You may not know it, but there's a constant war being waged inside your body. The healthy cells are fighting off something called 'free radicals', which are released when oxygen reacts with certain molecules in the body. it's reckoned that every healthy cell fights off about 10,000 free radical attacks a day.
Only help to your body are antioxidants. "Antioxidants possess anti-ageing qualities and are essential to a healthy lifestyle." Fruits and vegetables work as antioxidants which keep your body fit internally and externally. That's what the Doctor said in a seminar which thankfully I attended. But I was confused of what are Antioxidants, on that he said,
"During the normal process of breathing, oxygen is utilized by the body and as a result, the body produces chemical byproducts which can cause cellular damage. Antioxidants are certain food groups, which, when included in your diet, can naturally repair the damage."
I was surprised to know that there is also toxin damage that can be caused by relatively harmless activities like exercise, even sunlights can have damaging effects. Also it's accelerated by factors like stress, smoking, alcohol and pollution. The only solution is healthy eating.
Certain antioxidant tablet's are also available in the market, but most experts feel that antioxidant tab. should be taken only on a doctor's advice but there are ofcourse, no limits on the amounts of fruits and vegetables you can consume, so it's advisable to consume these antioxidants in the form of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Its best to start the day with green tea. So if you want to stay away from aiments like heart problems, allergies, arthritis and degenerative diseases like cancer and diabetes, healthy eating is the way to go. Wheatgrass juice is the most potent sources of antioxidents.
Great reason to take antioxidants- they are said to keep you young as they possess anti-ageing qualities. So stay young ;).
Lastly a daily mix of nutritious food items could naturally give you the daily requirements and keep the doctor away.
